history of the nastar center's upset training program
The NASTAR Center URT program was started as the Upset Domain Training Institute back in January 2003 under the leadership of industry expert Mr. Donald Baggett. His vision was to develop a new approach to solving the lack of viable URT in the aviation industry. His total training approach program was melded with Environmental Tectonics Corporations (ETC) specially designed ground trainers, the General Aviation Trainer II (GAT II), and the GYROLAB 2000 (GL-2000) sustained G motion platform to provide The NASTAR Center's first comprehensive URT program. Our goal is to honor this initial vision and develop the very best training program for our customers.
overview of upset recovery training (urt)
Throughout the history of aviation, the inherent shortcomings of interaction between man and aircraft have frequently led to disastrous results. In the past couple of decades, Loss of Control (LOC) events have been the number one cause of aviation related accidents resulting in fatalities. The result of these facts is an industry focus on how to correct this alarming statistic. Many industry experts point to a lack of training as a significant variable that they believe can be corrected through proper training.
upset recovery training like no other
The NASTAR Center's URT program represents a unique and progressive approach to cope with the unfortunate facts regarding LOC. Our training programs offer pilots the ability to gain the necessary knowledge and experience to handle all types of LOC situations. Whether you fly for a commercial transport carrier or on your own as a general aviation pilot, our URT program offers a full range of academics and flight experience needed to successfully combat LOC events. Thanks to the NASTAR Center's unique, sustained g motion simulation capabilities, we can provide a higher level of fidelity and therefore a training quality more than any other program. Our simulator allows you to explore the edges of the flight envelope in a safe and controlled environment. You will be able to learn the techniques necessary and demonstrate them in a manner that will give you the confidence and knowledge to react appropriately should you encounter an LOC event airborne.
Simply, the NASTAR Center's URT program provides a higher level of training than any other training program available today. Flight performance, controls, and instrumentation are infused with motion algorithms that allow pilots to explore the forces of flight like no other simulator. This high-fidelity simulator training is prefaced by academic training developed from the best resources available.
